Most outdoor lights communicate containing a 12 V transformer sealed in a weatherproof box, a length of cable and 6 to 12 fixtures, although you may prefer to assemble the elements separately with a variety of fixtures.
The transformer can be mounted on a wall near outdoor receptacle. If this location requires more than 100 feet of cable to supply fixtures, you must allow for voltage drop. Voltage drop is a slight consumption of electrical pressure by wires that have dim distant lights.

To strip a cable, first remove the sheathing from the end of it. Push the blade of a utility knife into the sheathing 8 inches from the end of the cable, then draw the blade back to the end of the cable to cut the sheathing. Peel back the sheathing and use diagonal cutting pliers. That's it!
